Terms of Service
What Appt247 does, what it does not do, and who is responsible for what. Short, and in plain words, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
1. What this service is
Appt247 is booking software for local service businesses. It gives a business a booking page and a booking widget for their own website, and it connects that front end to the scheduling system where their calendar actually lives.
Using this site or booking through a page powered by Appt247 means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. What this service is not
This is the part worth reading twice, because it decides who you talk to when something goes wrong.
- We are not the business you booked with. The appointment is between you and that business. We pass the booking along; we do not perform the service, set its price, or decide whether it goes ahead.
- We do not take your payment. If money changes hands, it changes hands at the business. We do not process cards and we do not hold funds.
- We do not set cancellation or refund rules. Those belong to the business. Ask them.
- We do not vet the businesses that use us beyond basic account checks, and listing on this service is not a recommendation or a guarantee of quality.
3. If you are booking an appointment
- Give accurate contact details. A wrong phone number or a mistyped email is the most common reason a business cannot reach you about a change.
- A booking is a request until the business confirms it. Businesses can decline or reschedule according to their own rules.
- To change or cancel, contact the business directly. We cannot do it on their behalf.
- Do not use booking forms to send abusive, misleading, or spam content. Bookings that do get removed.
4. If you run a business on Appt247
- You are responsible for what you publish through us: your business name, services, prices, hours and descriptions must be accurate and lawful.
- You are responsible for your account credentials and for anyone you let use them. Tell us promptly if you think they have leaked.
- Your customers' booking data is yours, and so is the duty of care. It lives in your scheduling system, not ours — we relay a notification and keep no copy. That also means we cannot recover a booking for you, produce a customer list, or answer a data request on your behalf. You need your own privacy notice and you must handle bookings lawfully. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what passes through us.
- You are responsible for your own scheduling system: keeping it reachable, keeping its credentials valid, and keeping its calendar honest. If it is down or misconfigured, bookings can fail, and that failure is not ours.
- Do not use the service to send unsolicited marketing, to impersonate another business, or for anything illegal where you operate.
- You can close your account at any time. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms, and where the situation allows, we will tell you why first.
5. Availability
We work to keep the service up and we monitor it, but we do not offer a guaranteed uptime figure and you should not plan around one. Maintenance, provider outages, and the failure of a business's own scheduling system can all interrupt bookings.
Keep a phone number on your website. A booking system that is down should cost a business an inconvenience, not a customer.
6. Content and ownership
- The Appt247 name, this website, its design and its code belong to us.
- Your business name, logo, photos, service descriptions and customer data remain yours. You give us only what is needed to display and operate your booking pages.
- Do not copy this site's design or code, resell the service, or present it as your own product without written agreement.
7. Liability
We provide the service as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost business, lost profit, missed appointments, or knock-on losses arising from use of the service or from an interruption to it.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version. Changes that materially affect merchant accounts will be emailed to account holders rather than quietly published.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
